As the police investigation progresses, they discover that Wei Lai, a student from a wealthy family, is the leader of the gang that bullies Chen. Consequentially, Wei and her gang are suspended from school, and their hatred towards Chen deepens. One day, Chen runs into a small-time gangster named Xiao Bei, as he is being assaulted by rival thugs. Chen is innocently pulled into the incident and being beaten along with Bei. The two desperate young souls reach out for each other, as Bei secretly protects Chen every day so that she can go to school safely and prepare for the public exams. On the day of examination, a rainstorm washes out Wei’s buried body, which has been dead for some time. As Chen becomes the top murder suspect, Bei decides to admit to the crime so that Chen can continue her education and live a better life. <br /><br />Critically revealing the problem of school bullying, director Derek Tsang gives a twofold illustration of a high school student fighting string of hardships, as well as a struggling teenage underdog in society.
